The aim of the exhibition is to tell the history of Sienese art from the late Middle Ages to the twentieth century, presenting to the public a series of masterpieces preserved in the collections of the Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena. Works by masters of the caliber of Pietro Lorenzetti, Tino di Camaino, Stefano di Giovanni known as Sassetta, Giovanni Antonio Bazzi known as Sodoma, Domenico Beccafumi, Bernardino Mei, Cesare Maccari and Fulvio Corsini will allow us to retrace Siena’s age-old love for the figurative arts , through some great artistic personalities capable of establishing themselves at home and beyond, giving account of the extraordinary value of the collections of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena, inextricably linked to the city, its memory and its values. The collections consist of paintings, sculptures and furnishings, mostly from the Sienese school from the fourteenth to the nineteenth century, not without interesting forays into the Italian twentieth century.
