The Contrada della Pantera is one of the seventeen contrades of Siena and is located in the Terzo di Città. Its emblem features a natural spotted panther rampant on a silver background, with a quarter of white and red bearing the initial “U” (Umberto I) in the upper left corner. Its colors are sky blue and red striped with white. The motto of the contrada is “My momentum overcomes every obstacle”.

The contrada holds the title of “Priora” for hosting the first meeting of the Magistrato delle Contrade. Its Terzo of belonging is Città. The contrada’s military companies are Stalloreggi di dentro and Stalloreggi di fuori. The allied contrades of Pantera are Chiocciola, Civetta, Giraffa, and Leocorno. The adversary contrada of Pantera is Aquila. The patron saint of the contrada is Saint John the Baptist Beheaded. The titular feast is celebrated around August 29th. The contrada’s guild is that of the apothecaries.

The Contrada della Pantera is one of the oldest contrades in Siena and has a long and rich history. The contrada is deeply cherished by its contradaioli, who are always ready to support it in its races at the Palio.
